Kane
County Farm Bureau
was the
first agricultural group to join the Fox River Ecosystem Partnership.
"We see the Partnership and the C2000 program as avenues for local
decision making about worthwhile habitat, water quality, environmental and
conservation programs," stated Mike Kenyon, President of the Kane
County Farm Bureau. "Farmers have long recognized their
responsibility to be good stewards of land and natural resources, and we
believe it is important that we partner with groups with similar
goals."
With nearly 13,000 members, the Kane County Farm
Bureau is the second largest Farm Bureau in the state - surprising, in
that Kane County ahs a mix of urban, rural residential, as well as
agricultural areas. The Kane County Farm Bureau has expanded its
membership base by reaching out to non-farmer, as well as farmer members.
The Farm Bureau offers a wide range of programs, services, and discounts
including investment clubs, recycling collections and soil testing for
lawns and gardens.
The Kane County Farm Bureau continues to be
active in its primary goal of strengthening agriculture's role and
influence in a strong economy. It serves as an information, public
relations, and legislative lobbying group for and on behalf of farmers.
The Kane County Farm Bureau is located at 2N710 Randall Rd., St.
Charles. 630/584-8660.
